Canada Launches A Famine Relief Fund

Tuesday, 30 May 2017

I have been blasting this message on my Facebook and social media accounts, because this is so important, and ever since I became a mother, organizations that advocate and help children have become so close to my heart.
Nobody should starve. Especially children... no child should starve to death.
Please consider a small donation, every bit counts.
There are a list of organizations here that you are able to give to, all amounts will be matched by the Canadian government.
I found that only organization you were able to make a custom dollar amount was World Vision.

"More than 20 million people in northeast Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen are at risk of starvation as a result of severe drought conditions or intensifying conflict. Today, Minister Marie-Claude Bibeau, announced the creation of the Famine Relief Fund to help millions facing starvation in these countries. In addition to the $119 million in aid already announced, the government will set aside one dollar in the Famine Relief Fund for every eligible dollar donated by individuals to registered Canadian charities between March 17, 2017 and June 30, 2017 in response to these humanitarian crises. Canadians can donate to the registered Canadian charities of their choice. You can find all the details on how to make a donation at the link below. Please share this with friends and family to help spread the word."

I posted a few months ago about another Canadian company that made dolls, with proceeds going to hungry children. As a reminder, this is it.
There are so many different ways to help, and I know that together, we can make a difference.
